Apple Prepares Major Overhaul For iPhone SE 4

Apple is set to launch the iPhone SE 4 with a host of exciting upgrades, marking a significant step in the evolution of its budget-friendly device.

This next iteration of the iPhone SE is expected to deliver major improvements, including a custom 5G modem, enhanced performance, and advanced features that could shift the landscape of mid-range smartphones.

Transition to Apple’s Own 5G Modem

In a bold move, Apple is expected to replace Qualcomm’s 5G modem with its in-house design for the iPhone SE 4. This switch is part of Apple’s ongoing strategy to gain more control over its hardware components.

The integration of Apple’s own modem not only improves connectivity but also represents a significant leap in the company’s drive toward hardware independence. The modem is also expected to handle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, further reducing reliance on third-party components.

Design and Display Upgrades

One of the most noticeable changes in the iPhone SE 4 will be its design, moving away from the dated iPhone 8-inspired look.

The new model is rumored to adopt an iPhone 14-like design, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display with an edge-to-edge screen and a notch, similar to Apple's premium models.

This display will offer a resolution of 1170 x 2532 pixels, bringing richer color accuracy, brighter visuals, and sharper contrast, marking a significant improvement from its predecessors.

Powerhouse Performance with the A18 Bionic Chip

While earlier rumors suggested the inclusion of the A16 chip, the latest updates point to the iPhone SE 4 being powered by the advanced A18 Bionic processor, which also features in the upcoming iPhone 16.

This new chip is expected to significantly boost speed and efficiency, allowing for smoother multitasking and improved energy management.

The phone will also come equipped with 8GB of RAM and a 5-core GPU, providing enhanced gaming performance and supporting more advanced machine learning tasks through Apple Intelligence.

Enhanced Camera and Face ID Integration

Apple’s iPhone SE 4 is set to bring higher-end features, including Face ID, which will replace the traditional Touch ID. This will offer faster and more secure unlocking and app access.

On the camera front, the device is rumored to sport a 48MP primary lens, delivering superior photo quality compared to previous models, and a 12MP front camera for improved selfies and video calls.

However, ultra-wide lenses will likely remain exclusive to higher-end models.
