Kamala joins the list of Indian-origin women shining in US
Indian womenhave come a long way, making their mark not only in the home country, but also contributing worldwide for shaping a better future.
The latest in the list is Kamala Harris, whois making headlines as the first Indian-American women to run for vice-president position with Joe Bidden, the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. Manyother incredibly powerful women who have made it big in US include Nicky Halley; the first female Indian-American to serve as Governor of South Carolinawas also US Ambassador to the United Nations under President Donald Trump.
In the Corporate arena, the contribution of Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, Padmasree Warrior and Komal Magtani in brands like PepsiCo, Cisco and Uber, is immeasurable.
When Indian women sets it foot outside the country, sky is the limit. Literally yes, as National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) too has a glorious list of Indian Americans, including Sunita Williams, Sharmila Bhattacharya and MadhulikaGuhathakurta, who excelled in various roles.
