Sanders steals the Thunder from the Glamour at Biden’s Inauguration
The inauguration ceremony of the 46th President of US has been exceptional in many ways. Only a 1000 socially distanced guests were present at the National Mall, Washington DC to see the foundation of what is being aspired as ‘new America’.
Michelle and Barack Obama looked dapper as they made, what looked like a ‘red carpet entry’ in chic wardrobe. Michelle wore a Plum Overcoat and Suit by Sergio Hudson and Barack wore a Suit by Ralph Lauren. The lady of the day, Kamala Harris wore a violet overcoat on a tunic by Christopher John Rogers, and the hashtag #Voilet trended on Twitter.
Hillary Rodham Clinton sported a deep purple pantsuit, and an overcoat and Bill wore a suit by Ralph Lauren. Hillary’s outfit was well-coordinated with Michelle and Kamala. The first couple’s look exulted trust, confidence, and stability; Joe Biden wore navy purple suit by Ralph Lauren and first lady, Jill Biden wore a custom-made Swarovski-crystal-accented aquamarine coat by Markarian.
Fashion icon, Lady Gaga sang the national anthem into a golden mic wearing a black fitted jacket with voluminous red skirt by Daniel Roseberry, and a symbolic brooch “a dove carrying an olive branch”, and Jennifer Lopez sported an all-white ensemble from Chanel.
In the mid of all the glamour, senator Bernie Sanders stole the thunder in his woolen mittens and mask and almost broke the Internet. The memes inspired by his look continue to entertain us, and Sanders managed to raise $1.8 mn in the first five days of putting the first of his “Chairman Sanders” merchandise, including T-shirts, sweatshirts and stickers, on his campaign website.
